Overview
When you or your kid plays a sport (like soccer, football, boxing, baseball, wrestling, or hockey), then our Moodus, CT team of dentists strongly suggests a custom-made mouth guard to shield your gums, teeth, and jawbone. Compared to store-bought generic mouth guards, customized mouth guards from East Haddam Dental Associates will be crafted and adjusted for you, which makes it even more effective and comfortable. If you would like to decrease the possibility of harm to your mouth, we invite you to contact East Haddam Dental Associates in Moodus, CT to learn more about custom-made mouth guards.
Best Candidates
Custom mouth guards are helpful if you or your child participates in a sport with a high risk of injury or frequent contact. A number of our patients take part in volleyball, football, martial arts, hockey, soccer, softball, wrestling, and more. A custom-made mouth guard may be particularly beneficial in case you have dental restorations or braces, because these can cut your gums as well as the soft tissues in your mouth. Mouth guards also have been shown to assist athletes in sports without contact (jogging, yoga, or weight lifting) by reducing strain on the jawbone. Since a custom-made mouth guard has been created specifically for your goals, it generally matches better and lasts longer compared to boil and bite or stock mouth guards bought at sporting goods shops.
What to Expect
For the first step in making your mouth guard, we will take a collection of physical or digital dental impressions. Your impressions will be sent to a dental lab where professionals will make your mouth guard from high-quality, durable materials. Once completed and shipped to our practice, you will return to our office to get your guard fitted. We will ensure your mouth guard fits correctly and is comfortable.
East Haddam Dental Associates Reviews
I have been a patient of East Haddam Dental for very many years. I have at all times been treated courteously and professionally. Dr. Stofko and now Dr. Goldman have tended to my teeth with a maximum of skill and a minimum of pain. Dr. Pear has also pitched in in their absence when I had an emergency that could not wait. I have never had an issue with the front desk staff. When I have a problem with a tooth they are always sympathetic and do their best to get me an early appointment to get it fixed. As for wait time, my experience is that I'm usually seated within a few minutes of my appointment. On those rare occasions where I did have to wait it was only for 15 minutes or so. I always figured the Doctor was backed up because someone needed extra help and I was just happy not to be that person. Needless to say I am pleased with the quality of care I've received and intend to stay with East Haddam Dental for the foreseeable future.
Got me in quick, Sherry is very nice. Thank you Dr Goldman and team for setting me on the right path.
Dr Goldman and his staff were absolutely the best. They saw me within 24 hours of of inquiry. They also made a comprehensive treatment plan, and on the first appointment took all new X-rays then immediately started work on my teeth. Numerous other dentists said I had to get several teeth pulled and couldn't save them and Dr Goldman is saving every single one of those teeth. I couldn't be more thankful. I would recommend anyone who has dental problems to go see him. Even when I called inquiring Sherry the receptionist was extremely polite and informative. The hygienist I had as well extremely polite. I was comfortable during the whole visit. Overall I really don't like going to the dentist but they actually made it a painless experience. Trust me I had to travel a decent ways and I will again for years to come..
My teeth aren’t what they used to be and it is a little embarrassing, I hadn’t been to the dentist in some time, and the hygienist was absolutely wonderful, she was sooo NON judgmental !! Thank you!!! I would recommend them 100%
Really good dentist. The people were there really nice. They were really gentle.
